Using eye-witness sources, a first century doctor named Luke wrote a chronicle of Jesus' life.
Known for his historical precision, Luke's story presents a radical Jesus, despised for his scandalous social behaviour and celebrated by outsiders and the destitute.
Hear Luke's account, told word-for-word from a modern translation of the ancient manuscripts. Performed by storyteller Robert Turnbull.

The Script
Last modified: 19th March 2012
The script comes directly from Luke's Gospel and is an abridged version of what Luke wrote from beginning to end. It has been carefully put together to give a coherent whole. It captures the distinctives of Luke's account, highlighting Jesus as the 'friend of sinners' and including stories unique to his Gospel such as the Lost Son, whilst still containing the classic stories paralleled in the other Gospels such as Jesus calming the storm. Care was taken to ensure that the multi-dimensional nature of Luke's presentation of Jesus was preserved.
The text is based on the World English Bible's text of Luke and adapted in consultation with the original Greek.
